Aspirin® wants you to take the following tips into account:

Prevention and Wellbeing

Gradually increase new activities. Everyone, even professional athletes, must gradually train for physical activities. It’s good to be enthusiastic, but you must also be realistic about your physical condition when taking up a new activity. John and his wife are over the moon about bicycling in the area near their new house, but they need to keep in mind that they used to have a more sedentary way of life. If they take the first few days easy, their bodies will start getting used to all the things they want to do without any undue aches or pains.

Warming up, a pleasant part of the process. Most often than not, since we want to start the new adventure, we forget that our body needs preparation: warming up from 10 to 15 minutes before exercise, by slow jogging or quick walks. It would be an excellent idea if John and his wife spent a few minutes before and after their bike rides stretching their muscles, particularly those muscles that were put into motion. Besides, once you acquire the habit of stretching out, it turns into a really pleasurable part of the exercise process.

Resting properly. Even though John and his wife are starting a more relaxed phase in their lives, their activities are now more physically demanding. That's why they need a good rest at night and even between activities performed during the day. Sleeping at least 6 hours, in a quiet and silent environment is important for preventing all sorts of pains and aches.

The right sportswear. Both clothes and objects we use for exercising must be the right ones for the activity you will perform. A good pair of sneakers that cushions impacts can prevent pain and injuries in your feet and knees. Clothing should be made with breathable fabric that allows your body to move freely and sweat. John and his wife should feel comfortable riding their bikes for long distances, and to do this, they might need to fix their seats and adjust their handlebars to adapt their bikes to their bodies.

Consult a doctor. We shouldn’t only see our doctors when we get ill, we should also ask them for guidance in prevention. It’s important that John and his wife tell their new physician about their activities. It’s necessary for your doctor to know your previous health status and assess the new activities when advising what kind and level of exercise is acceptable for you.

NOTE: These recommendations can be followed by any person who might suffer from muscle pains.
